I was glad to read your analysis of “snowflake,” one of those conversation stoppers that I loathe (first cousin to “SJW” and “PC.”) These terms are so insidious, and become so entrenched, it’s important to push back and challenge them whenever they’re trotted out. I think you nailed the user profile perfectly.

I wish I could be as dispassionate about seeing it as a useful identifier. I agree that it is, but as a gay male boomer, I instinctively go into fight or flight in response to any term of ridicule or abuse. Your response is clearly preferable; I’ll work on it.
