Our angry white conservative men, at least the ones in suits, vent their bile at our PM, Justin Trudeau, in what I find to be a weird sort of homophobia, but directed at a straight male who doesn't conform to their view of real manhood. If he had blocked off the city of Ottawa, Macron style, and refused to let the truckers in, they would have screamed "Tyrant!" Except they're screaming that anyway for his enforcing vaccine mandates and insisting on following science. It's deliberately calculated to be an unwinnable battle for him.

This animus has been quietly simmering below the surface since 2015, and now, encouraged by the Capitol riots and American money and American pundits, it has reached the boil.

It's comforting to hear from a straight male who breaks the mould and reminds me that we get a distorted view of humanity from the media. What are there, like, five of you? At least!
